• We are beginning to write our defeating the monster story as an independent task. Think about the story we imitated and what happened to the gladiator with the beast he fought. Plan your own defeating the monster story using these paragraphs and then begin writing your opening paragraph.

Build up:

• MC having a bad time.

Dilemma:

• Monster introduced and MC faced with it.
• Something bad happens.

Resolution:

• MC makes a plan to defeat monster.
• MC manages to overcome monster.

Ending:

• MC shows their feelings after they defeated the monster.
• MC reflects on events and looks to future.

Spellings:

• Keep practicing your spellings ahead of the test on Friday.
