If you are well enough, here is some work for you to complete today.

Maths:

  • We are still looking at multiplying a 2-digit by a 1-digit number without exchanging. If you need to, watch the video from yesterday.



 










English:

  • Today, we are going to be looking at setting descriptions. Look at the picture of London and think about what you can see and how you might describe it.
  • Think about nouns, adjectives and verbs to help you write your setting description. Here are some of my examples.



 












Science:

  • Have a look at this video on reflective materials. You have been asked to design a coat safe for children at night time. Remember to think about the reflective materials you will use, colours and the design. Annotate your design and explain why you have chosen to design your coat in a few sentences.

Spellings:

  • It is your spelling test today. If possible, can you have a go at testing yourself on these spellings. Remember the suffix spelling rule of ‘ful’ and ‘ness’.

  • Today we are looking at multiplying a 2-digit by a 1-digit number. Look at the video to help you.

English:

Today in English, we are looking at direct speech as we are going to be including this in our losing tale. Direct speech is the reporting of speech by repeating the actual words of a speaker.

You must include:

  • Speech marks.
  • Punctuation inside the speech marks.
  • A new line for each speaker.
  • Who said it and how they said it.
  • “I love watching the children perform their poems!” exclaimed Miss Edenbrow.
Can you correctly punctuate the direct speech.





Reading:

  • Do you have a favourite picture book? I really enjoy reading these and our guided reading book is a picture book based on the Stone Age. Find your favourite picture book and a comfy spot to read it. Don’t forget to look closely at the pictures as these can tell the story too.

  • We are focusing on dance this term. Today we will be looking at how dance movements can portray a theme. I want you to think about your favourite superhero, how might they show who they are through dance? Find a space and create three dance movements which shows your superhero. You might want to add this to your favourite music.

  • They are words or phrases placed at the beginning of a sentence which give more information to that sentence e.g. Earlier today, I discovered fronted adverbials.
  • Miss Edenbrow’s sentences are missing fronted adverbials. Your task is to write your own fronted adverbials in these sentences.


 



Spellings:

  • Keep practising your spellings. Can you think of any pictures to draw which will help you remember your spellings?

 French:

  • Listen to the video “L’araignée Gypsie.” Do you recognise which nursery rhyme it is?
  •  It’s Incy Wincy Spider! In French, the song is about a spider called Gypsie. 
  • l’araignée = spider (say la-ran-yai)
  • le soleil = sun (say le-sol-ai)
  • la pluie = rain (say la-ploo-ee)

English: 

  1. Poetry read the poem Noises in the Night – think about how it makes you feel. Where do you imagine yourself when reading it?
