In the distance, there are clouds drifting peacefully through the beautiful, blue sky. Below the clouds of marshmallow, the trees wave gently in the warm summer breeze, although the flower buds are only just beginning to show. Beneath the small hill stands a minute house covered in luscious, dewy grass. The house has its own circular door that is in the centre of the unusual looking building, perhaps only small enough for a mythical creature to enter through. There is a mound of various plants placed alongside the house, when spring time comes they will fill the front of the house with a rainbow of colours.

National storytelling week

This week is National Storytelling Week

Why don't you have a go at storytelling as a family?

In school we sometimes sit in a circle and ask each child to add a part/sentence of a story to help to create a made up story, the adults help to structure the story. The more you do it the better the children get and understand a story structure.

Or

Why not ask your child to tell you or their brother/sister their favourite story?

Or perhaps mum or dad could make up a story for bedtime?

Here is a link with some more storytelling ideas
